Unfortunately for Tampa Bay's defense, two of the most banged up areas from last week continue to be a major area of concern as the team gets ready to head to Southern California for their showdown with the Los Angeles Chargers.

The Bucs are going to be without their top two safeties on the roster in Antoine Winfield, Jr. and Mike Edwards (Jordan Whitehead remains on injured reserve), with both players officially ruled out. That will mean Kaevon Merriweather and perhaps Christian Izien, depending on if the latter is able to fall on the right side of things as a game time decision, will man the safety spots.
At linebacker, K.J. Britt is out again at linebacker, with J.J. Russell listed as questionable after turning in just a limited practice this week on Friday. If Russell can't go, then Vi Jones should be in position to log another healthy cut of snaps alongside Lavonte David.
Beyond safety and linebacker, the Bucs have a couple of players worth monitoring over the weekend. RB Bucky Irving, who missed practice all week with hip and back issues, will apparently be worked out during warmups to see where he's at, per Todd Bowles. OLB Joe Tryon-Shoyinka is also still listed as questionable despite practicing in full all week, so his status is worth keeping an eye on.
On the other side of that coin, three starters are all cleared to play despite fitting in just one limited practice each all week: Mike Evans, Tristan Wirfs, and Ben Bredeson.
The Bucs and Chargers get things started on Sunday at 4:25 pm from SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California.
