The Tampa Bay Buccaneers closed out their 20-19 win over the Houston Texans on Monday Night Football with a second consecutive game-winning drive in the final two minutes to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat. The win moved the team to 2-0 in this early 2025 season.

Now, the Bucs turn their sights to the New York Jets on Sunday, and one of the most impactful players over the first two weeks could be in jeopardy of missing the game.

Bucs WR Emeka Egbuka was listed as a ‘did not practice’ on Wednesday with hip and groin issues

While Wednesday’s practice was a walk through and not a full practice, Egbuka was still estimated as not practicing had it been one. That certainly raises the antenna and constitutes something that will be important to keep an eye on as the week progresses. Egbuka finished the game in Houston, but he apparently came out of it with a couple of issues.

Egbuka has been impactful for the Buccaneers in the first two weeks. The team’s 2025 first-round draft pick notched two touchdowns in his first career game against the Atlanta Falcons, including the game-winner with a little over a minute left. Through two weeks, he has eight catches for 96 yards and three touchdowns.

Additionally, offensive linemen Luke Goedeke and Cody Mauch were both listed as “DNP.” Goedeke left the game in the first half on Monday night and limped to the locker room.

The news wasn’t all concerning on Wednesday. Mayfield was listed as an estimated full practice participant (toe/foot). He was seen walking with a limp as well after the game towards the locker room.

We’ll see if Egbuka and the rest of his teammates on the report can up their participation level on Friday and avoid a game designation for Sunday.
