The Tampa Bay Buccaneers finally got some positive news on Sunday.

According to a report from ESPN's Adam Schefter, quarterback Tom Brady is expected to return to the team "shortly".

Brady took a leave of absence from the team earlier this month for "personal reasons". The break was preplanned according to Tampa Bay.

With Brady finally returning, it means the discussion surrounding the Buccaneers can go from speculation about why Brady is away from the team to actual football talk.

Brady's absence has been the subject of numerous conspiracy theories (my personal favorite is that he was filming The Masked Singer, which is plausible and also unlikely but somehow likely).

The most likely explanation, however, is that Brady wanted to spend one last vacation with his family before the grind of the regular season gets started. He's 45 years old and the greatest quarterback of all time — he's earned that right.

It doesn't actually matter why Brady was gone. All that matters is that he'll be back soon. And the focus can return to the Buccaneers defending their NFC South division title and making another Super Bowl run.

Tampa Bay has some strong competition in the NFC South in the New Orleans Saints, but the Buccaneers are still the favorites to win the division.
