After two long months, Tom Brady has announced his return to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The seven-time Super Bowl champion made the official announcement on his Instagram account Sunday evening.
In case the post isn't showing up or in case the link isn't working, the post read as such:
I love my teammates, and I love my supportive family. Without them, none of this is possible. I’m coming back for my 23rd season in Tampa. We have unfinished business.
These past two months I have realized my place is still on the field and not in the stands. That time will come. But it’s not now.
LFG
Brady's retirement lasted just 40 days, but it probably felt like 40 years for everyone involved within the Tampa Bay franchise. Regardless, they don't care. After going through all the motions and possibilities at quarterback for the 2022 season, they are more than thrilled to have Brady back in the saddle for one more season.
Brady's return to the Buccaneers not only squashes all kinds of speculation about supposed rifts between him and Bruce Arians, behind-the-scenes maneuvering to get traded to San Francisco, and just all kinds of other nonsensical topics of conversation that were never even close to the truth.
Like Brady said in his post, he has unfinished business to take care of in 2022. The NFL world can't wait to see what he will do.
