No, I'm not making a prediction. I'm telling you what history says is going to happen.
Tom Brady is back as the Bucs' quarterback in 2022. And with Brady back in Tampa Bay, so is his recent playoff streak.
Dating back to 2013, Brady has won the Super Bowl every other year.
That means the Bucs should be the team hoisting the Lombardi trophy at the end of the 2022 season.
Brady's return puts the Buccaneers right back among the favorites to win the Super Bowl. And I'm not sure I'd bet against him next season. Brady was obviously close to retiring for real this winter. I don't think he made his retirement announcement for attention. I believe it's what he was truly feeling at the time.
But I think the 2022 season could be his last ride for real. And if it is, the only way I can see Brady going out is with a Super Bowl trophy.
No, it's not a sure thing — despite what history says. But even without that wild stat, I'd still be feeling pretty good about the Buccaneers' chances of winning it all next season.
