Hurricane Milton, now a Category 4 hurricane, is forcing the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to change its strategy when it comes to how it handles this week's preparation for the New Orleans Saints.

The storm is expected to hit the west coast of Florida, including Tampa Bay. The National Weather Service in Tampa Bay said Monday morning that Milton "will be a historic storm for the west coast of Florida", while forecasting the dangers of the hurricane.

Per ESPN's Adam Schefter the Bucs will relocate to New Orleans so they can prepare for the Saints. Schefter says they were able to secure enough flight tickets and hotel rooms to make the trip. Per FOX Sports' Greg Auman, the Bucs fly out Tuesday and they will bring their families with them.

They typically practice at the AdventHealth Training Center then fly out on Saturdays, obviously, but that won't be the case, this week. Where they will practice has yet to be reported.

That's good for the Bucs, but football clearly is the secondary issue, here. As we saw with Hurricane Helene and many hurricanes before it, these storms can destroy lives in an instant and it's not just the immediate areas that are affected. Hopefully the storm weakens enough to where it's not as effective once it approaches populated areas. If not, hopefully the people and areas that are eventually hit by Milton make it through in the best way, possible.
