NASHVILLE — Tennessee Titans President of Football operations Chad Brinker has been doing the media circuit leading up to the introductory press conference for new GM Mike Borgonzi.

Brinker sat down for an interview with "Ramon, Kayla, and Will" on 104.5 The Zone on Wednesday morning.

While fielding a series of questions that every Titans fan wants an answer to, Brinker made an interesting and surprising comment regarding Tennessee Titans quarterback Will Levis

"It’s the most important position in football. The most important position in sports, really. It’s really key we get that right," said Brinker about the quarterback situation moving forward. "Obviously, we have Will Levis here. We got to continue to see him develop and grow. He’s gonna get an opportunity to compete for a starting job next year, but at the same time we gotta do our due diligence on that position as well, whether that’s in free agency or the upcoming draft."

I have my doubts about whether or not Levis will actually be given a fair chance to win the starting quarterback job in 2025. It seems like the organization is primed to move on and draft a franchise quarterback with the 1st overall pick.

But I've also believed Levis had a decent chance to be traded or moved this offseason. If the Titans are going to draft a young quarterback, I think a veteran backup/mentor is a better fit for the room. That would make Levis a primed trade candidate, but if the plan is to have in training camp competing, that suggests to me that Brinker is planning (at least for now) for Levis to be a Titan in 2025.

"Every (GM) candidate we met with we talked about these things to just kinda hear how they feel about the position, and how they feel about (Levis)," said Brinker. "How they feel about the free agency class as well as the draft class. There’s a variance of opinions throughout the process, and some really good ideas on how to attack it. Mike and I are gonna work together, and it’s… priority number one”
