Former Miami Hurricanes quarterback Cam Ward, the newest member of the Tennessee Titans after being selected with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, was destined to land in Nashville based on his musical tastes.
Ward told reporters after being selected by the Titans on Thursday night that he's a big Morgan Wallen fan.
"[I'm a] big Morgan Wallen guy," said Ward. "Last night is probably my No. 1, my No. 1 song by him. I like Love Somebody and the last one, I can't remember what it was, I'll have to go through my Spotify playlist. But Morgan, he cool."
It's been clear for the last couple of weeks that the Titans viewed Ward as a perfect fit for the franchise (which is evidenced by the Titans' decision to reject any potential offers for the No. 1 overall pick). The fact that Ward is a big fan of Wallen, a Tennessee native who is one of biggest music stars on the planet right now, is even more evidence that the former Miami standout is a perfect fit in Nashville.
I'm sure Wallen and Ward will have a chance to meet up in the not-too-distant future.
