History tells us Will Levis trade value is worth more than you think as Titans consider moving on because of first overall pick
How much could a Will Levis trade fetch the Titans? Probably more than you think
The Tennessee Titans are expected to have a new franchise QB as soon as the 1st round of the 2025 NFL Draft rolls around, and that just leaves their backup QB situation in flux.
I believe Will Levis will be traded, and potentially soon. I wrote more about that here. Assuming he is moved sometime in the coming weeks or months, what could the Titans actually fetch for him on the trade market?
I compiled all 13 QB trades in the NFL since the last massive trade at the position: Aaron Rodgers to the Jets in April 2023, which involved a 1st round pick swap and a pair of 2nds amongst other things.
Let’s take a look at all of those moves, and determine where Will Levis is likely to fit in on this scale of compensation:
- Kenny Pickett- 5th + QB Dorian Thompson Robinson, March 2025
- Geno Smith- 3rd (March 2025)
- Taylor Heinicke- 7th (August 2024)
- Malik Willis- 7th (August 2024)
- Zach Wilson + 7th- 6th (April 2024)
- Justin Fields- future 6th, becomes 4th if 51% of snaps played (March 2024)
- Kenny Pickett + 4th- 3rd + future 7th + future 7th (March 2024)
- Sam Howell + 4th + 6th- 5th + 6th (March 2024)
- Desmond Ridder- Rondale Moore (March 2024)
- Mac Jones- 6th (March 2024)
- Josh Dobbs + 7th- 6th (October 2023)
- Trey Lance- 4th (August 2023)
- Josh Dobbs + 7th- 5th (August 2023)
Titans head into 2025 NFL season with a bad backup QB situation, and there’s a great reason why it’s exactly the right approach
Will Levis is out, Brandon Allen is in, and the Titans are doing backup QB right
