In Week 10, the Tennessee Titans weren't playing any old Los Angeles Chargers team. They were playing the "Island of Misfit Former Titans" Los Angeles Chargers.

And the misfits took the 27-17 loss from disappointing to downright embarrassing.

The greatest of the former Titans revenge moments came at the end of the Chargers game-sealing 95-yard TD drive in the 4th quarter. After starting at their own 5 yard line, the Chargers marched the length of the field in 10 plays. 32 of those yards came on the ground, courtesy of the rushing efforts of J.K. Dobbins and Gus Edwards. The Chargers were dictating terms on the ground with their starting backs.

But on the 11th play, Jim Harbaugh turned to his RB depth to punch it in at the goal line. Why? Because the 3rd running back on their roster is former Titans draft pick Hassan Haskins, who the Titans cut in August before the season. The Chargers scooped him up off the street, and let him score the dagger TD against his old team.

The Chargers also picked on a cast-off of their own. Los Angeles was happy to let former 1st round LB Kenneth Murray walk in free agency after the expiration of his rookie contract, and the Titans signed him to a 2yr/$15.5 million dollar deal in the spring.

Justin Herbert, who has plenty of practice reps under his belt throwing against Murray the past couple years, wasn't shy about picking on him all day long. Take this TD, with which the Chargers extended their lead to 10 late in the 3rd quarter, for example:

And then there was EDGE Bud Dupree. Dupree was signed by the Titans in 2021 to a 5yr/$82.5 million dollar megadeal. But after just 2 seasons, a measly 7 sacks, and a litany of missed starts to injury, Dupree was released.

On Sunday against his former team, he got home to sack Will Levis twice while the Titans were trying to mount a comeback.

Many things went poorly for the Titans in Week 10, but the most damaging to the ego was all of the rivalry game success and failure that skewed exclusively in the Chargers direction.
