The Tennessee Titans have found a preseason dance partner.

On Tuesday, the Titans announced that the team will host the Seattle Seahawks for joint practices ahead of their preseason matchup in Nashville set for Aug. 17. The Seahawks will travel to Ascension Saint Thomas Sports Park for practice sessions on Wednesday, Aug. 14 and Thursday, Aug. 15.

Titans head coach Brian Callahan told reporters that the Seahawks were one of the teams he requested to work with during the preseason and the NFL obliged.

“You call around as the schedule is being made after the draft, really before the draft to see who would be willing to work and try and find guys you’re familiar with and sometimes the league accommodates those requests, and sometimes it doesn’t,” Callahan said. “But for the most part, when you request to work with a team, they try to make that work. So we’re trying to make sure we had a dance partner, because they get filled up pretty quick with teams practicing together. So we requested to work with Seattle, knowing they would likely be one of our preseason opponents. I talked to Mike (McDonald) a little bit and they were on board.”

The Seahawks present the perfect challenge for the new-look Titans roster. Tennessee made splash additions over the offseason featuring wide receivers Calvin Ridley and Tyler Boyd, along with cornerbacks L'Jarius Sneeed and Chidobe Awuzie.

Seattle boasts one of the NFL's best wide receiver including DK Metcalf, Tyler Lockett and Jaxson Smith-Njigba. The new and improved Titans secondary will undoubtedly have its hands full as defensive coordinator Dennard Wilson will take note of what is working as well as some of the areas that might need improvement.

Will Levis and Co. will be tested on the offensive side of the ball. The Seahawks have a talented young core of defensive backs such as cornerbacks Riq Woolen and Devon Witherspoon who play in front of safeties Julian Love and Rayshawn Jenkins. Levis will have to take care of the football and thread tight windows to his pass catchers throughout the week.

Callahan and Seahawks head coach Mike McDonald are both first-year head coaches, but do have experience coaching against each other from their time in the AFC North. Callahan and Wilson should come away from this week with a strong idea of what their respective team's potential might look like in 2024.
