The Tennessee Titans get their first divisional test this weekend when they host the Indianapolis Colts. Indy rolls into town with the most efficient offense in the entire NFL through two games, led by an unlikely hero in QB Daniel Jones. They haven’t punted a single time in 2025, and the Titans hope to force them to finally dust that unit off a couple times in Week 3. A pair of important starters on defense were on the first injury report of the week, though, and we got context on where they’re at inside the locker room. Here’s what you need to know:

L’Jarius Sneed Missing Practice For A New Reason

Titans CB1 L’Jarius Sneed wasn’t seen during the open portion of practice Wednesday, just a couple of days removed from successfully finishing his first full game back in a starting role since Week 6 last year. Naturally, everybody’s mind goes right to his chronic knee injury that he’s managed for years. But he was out for a different reason today.

Sneed was listed as a DNP with a back. In a way, it’s good news that his knee isn’t flaring up again. But it of course raises a whole new concern about something new.

Don’t sweat over this one. I don’t see this being a big problem for the vet, who I think is liable to return to practice before the week is out. Overreacting to Wednesday injury reports will always be done at your own peril. He came out of the game last weekend pretty cleanly, and I’m anticipating him being back in the saddle next weekend continuing to get his football conditioning up to snuff.

Sneed played pretty well in Week 2 all things considered, and the Titans need him to stay available and continue rounding into form to keep this defense from crumbling.

T’Vondre Sweat Returns?

Now for a guy we didn’t see in Week 2: second-year DL T’Vondre Sweat. He played 29 totals snaps in Week 1 at Denver after missing a big chunk of Training Camp, which was more than the conservative estimates many of us on the beat had thrown out. His football conditioning after missing so much of late August was (and still is) the primary concern here, though in Week 2 he was ruled out on Friday for the stated reason of not recovering from an ankle quickly enough.

On Wednesday ahead of Week 3, he was listed as a limited participant on the initial injury report with that same ankle. But as a limited participant, he was available for us to speak with. He was all smiles, and said confidently that he’ll be out there on Sunday. That’s fantastic news for his running mate Jeffery Simmons, who has played at a very high level through two games, as well as the rest of a unit that really needs a jumpstart rushing the passer. We’ll see just how much he plays, and if he can offer anything in that department.
