Latest mock draft predicts Tennessee Titans to be absolute fools with the first overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft

NASHVILLE – As the 2025 NFL Draft nears, the Tennessee Titans are beginning to have some real direction with the first overall pick.

All signs are pointing to the Titans selecting Miami quarterback Cam Ward and building around him in the future. But there is still a variable at play with the New York Giants being lef tout of the quarterback carousel up to this point and potentially missing out on both Cam Ward and Shedeur Sanders.

If the Aaron Rodgers situation falls through and Joe Schoen gets desperate enough to make Tennessee a ridiculously large offer for the number one pick, Mike Borgonzi might not be able to say no.

That's exactly what Pro Football Focus predicted to happen in a recent mock draft. It would be a great move from the Titans and have them stacked with future draft assets. But what PFF mocked afterwards would be one of the most foolish decision in Titans history.

Titans trade down and take Jaxson Dart

John Kosko of PFF mocked a trade between the Titans and Giants, netting Tennessee the following haul of picks.

Trade terms: Giants receive No. 1 pick; Titans receive No. 3 pick, No. 65 pick, 2026 first-round pick and 2026 third-round pick

That's a third-round pick in 2025 and 2026 along with next year's first rounder just to move back two spots at the top of the draft.  That would unquestionable be an overpay for the Giants. If they took that deal, the Titans could address edge rusher by selection Abdul Carter at No. 3, add high-upside wide receivers in Rounds 2-3, and potentially have two picks in the Top 10 next year.

But that's not at all what Kosko and PFF predicted to happen. Instead of moving back for the draft picks and select Abdul Carter, the Titans are mocked to trade back and get…Ole Miss QB Jaxson Dart.

"The Titans profit from the Giants’ desperation and take Dart while gaining multiple picks to build out their team over the next two years. With the best data profile of any quarterback in this class, Dart has the arm talent, accuracy and athleticism to become a franchise NFL quarterback." – John Kosko, PFF

If the Titans are going to move down in the draft, they are doing it because they are not sold on Sanders/Ward and not desperate enough to take a quarterback for the sake of taking a quarterback. There's no world where Tennessee moves off No. 1 and still looks at QB in the first round. The need at edge is too real and Abdul Carter is too good of a prospect.

You could sell me on "Titans profit from Giants desperation," but in that world, Tennessee likely goes into 2025 with some combination of Will Levis and Brandon Allen at QB, maybe adding a below-average veteran into the mix there. It would be a punt on the 2025 season for the sake of getting rich with draft picks. The Titans wait to draft a quarterback until 2026 if that's the case.

Apart from that, Tennessee is not very high on Jaxson Dart. I don't think the Titans would have interest in Dart with No. 35 in the second round, let alone the No. 3 overall pick with Abdul Carter and Travis Hunter still available.

This mock draft has the Titans being the absolute joke of the draft. The village idiots that the entire NFL can make fun of for years. It's not going to happen. I know we're all antsy about the draft getting here, but let's try to be realistic about our content.
