Shedeur Sanders meets with Titans, would "love" to be drafted to Tennessee, dominates Shrine Bowl narrative despite not participating
Sanders has been the talk of the Shrine Bowl for the Tennessee Titans
Colorado QB Shedeur Sanders is the talk of the East-West Shrine Bowl this weekend, even though he isn’t participating at all.
When Sanders and a litany of his Colorado Buffaloes teammates accepted their Shrine Bowl invites weeks ago, the intrigue around the event rose. Sanders is a consensus top-2 QB in the 2025 NFL Draft, and could very well end up being the 1st overall pick.
Sanders met with teams over the weekend, including the Titans, Browns, and Giants. These three teams stand out as the highest likelihood teams at the top of the draft order to take a QB.
Tennessee Titans in-house reporter Jim Wyatt asked Sanders how he would feel if the Titans were to take him 1st overall. "I'd love it." Sanders responded with a smile. "I would be thankful."
Sanders even echoed Titans head coach Brian Callahan in his media availability, saying he thinks the most important ability a QB can have is being a good decision-maker.
There was some confusion based on reporting whether Sanders was asked not to participate by the teams at the top, and that was the reason he wasn't going to throw at the event. This is not true. It was know Sanders wasn't going to play for over a month, and the decision not to practice at all was made at least a week before the Shrine Bowl began. Not to mention, it wouldn't actually make much sense for the teams to ask the player not to practice in the first place.
