Biggest Games on the Titans' 2025 Schedule

Titans @ Broncos: The Titans open the season on the road at elevation, facing a tricky first test in the Bo Nix/Sean Payton Broncos. You’ll probably heard about how Denver is 19-5 in home openers since moving into new stadium in 2001, but they’re just 2-4 in the past six years. Year 2 of the Broncos’ offense should be improved, but what’s really scary about this one if the defense Cam Ward has to face out of the gate.

They finished 2024 as arguably the best defense in the league, and they only got stronger on paper this offseason. If Ward looks merely serviceable against this group in his debut, it will be encouraging. Oh, and we get a comparison between Cam Ward and the 2024 QB class out of the gate too. More on that here.

Rams @ Titans: The Titans home opener is against Sean McVay and Matthew Stafford’s Rams in Week 2. The NFL decided the 1st overall pick was going to begin the year with a trial by fire. Los Angeles lost Cooper Kupp but probably upgraded with the Davante Adams this offseason at receiver. If Matthew Stafford is healthy—and hopefully in Week 2 he still is—the Rams are always a tough out. The mettle of the new-look Titans is going to really be tested early.

One additional little quirk to watch: The Texans shaky OL faces the Rams fantastic DL in Week 1, and then the Titans improved (on paper!) OL faces them in Week 2. This will provide a nice baseline for both critical units.

Patriots @ Titans: Not much I have to say about the Titans Week 7 matchup to explain why it's a highlight. Mike Vrabel is returning to Nashville, and he's bringing with him a burgeoning franchise QB and a revamped roster. You think things won't be a little tight around here?

Titans @ Browns: By Week 14, who will be playing QB for the Cleveland Browns? Opinions on Shedeur Sanders are about as split as they can get, but I for one think there is a very decent chance he's under center by the time the Titans come to town. If so, a battle between Ward and Sanders head-to-head could be the intrigue game of the week.

Saints @ Titans: Week 17 presents another possible rookie QB faceoff: QB1 Cam Ward vs QB3 Tyler Shough. It's impossible to say if Shough will be playing at this point over Spencer Rattler, but given his age, pro-readiness, and level of draft investment, I won't be surprised to see him under center in Nashville for this one.

Zero Primetime Games For The Titans

The Titans are one of three teams in 2025 without a single primetime game, an exclusive club with the Saints and Browns. The AFC South as a whole, in a not-so-surprising bit of news, only has 5 primetime spots between them.

As a consolation prize, the Titans did get a whopping 5 late window games: each of their road games against the AFC and NFC West, and their game in Indianapolis. So if you're a season ticket holder, expect to be at Nissan Stadium by noon for every home game and mostly waiting until the late window to watch road games.

It's not a real shock the Titans didn't get primetime love despite drafting Cam Ward 1st overall. History tells us the league schedule-makers don't care to give top QB picks primetime slots ahead of time. The only recent highly-drafted QB to get more than 2 such games was Caleb Williams last year, which had just as much if not more to do with the team and market he's with.

In fact, the AFC South has drafted four top-4 pick QBs in the past half decade: Trevor Lawrence 1st overall, CJ Stroud 2nd overall, Anthony Richardson 4th overall, and Cam Ward 1st overall. Want to guess how many primetime games they were collectively assigned? A single, measly Thursday Night Football game early in 2021: Jaguars vs. Bengals. A game Brian Callahan coached in, in fact.

The bottom line is that the league schedulers figure if you're electric as a rookie QB, they'll happily flex you into primetime later in the season.
