NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Day 3 of Tennessee Titans training camp saw the team don shoulder pads for the first time in 2019 and legitimate contact being made.

Each day, we will analyze the biggest takeaway, individual stand-out or topic du jour that came out of practice and what it could mean for the upcoming season. Let’s take a look at Corey Davis

Corey Davis has been a rock star through three days in camp. The third-year wide receiver has looked dominant in comparison to opposing defenders in individual and team work. When both Davis and quarterback Marcus Mariota are on-point, they give a Tennessee practice exponentially more juice.

Today was one of those highlight reel days at Saint Thomas Sports Park.

High-pointing the ball is a Davis specialty. The young wideout possesses above average body control while in mid-air and has been doing his best Randy Moss impression on defensive backs all camp. During an eleven-on-eleven play action pass Sunday, Davis bailed his quarterback out of what would have been an interception by going up and over the back of corner Adoree' Jackson.

The Titans need Davis to maintain the kind of play-making he displayed in spurts over the course of 2018.

In upset victories over the Philadelphia Eagles and New England Patriots, Davis caught nine passes for 161 yards and a touchdown and seven passes for 125 yards and a touchdown respectively. He finished the campaign with 65 catches on 112 targets for 891 yards and four touchdowns.

Contested catches, diving toe-drags for scores, crisp change of direction and and improved release thanks to offseason work have Davis looking like the consensus WR1.
