NASHVILLE — The Tennessee Titans (2-7) and Minnesota Vikings (7-2) kick off at 12 PM central standard time from Nissan Stadium on Sunday.
Minnesota rolls into town as six point favorites (-6) while the Titans are trying to build some more positive momentum with quarterback Will Levis in the starting lineup.
While it might be tempting to bet against the struggling Titans, my bet of the week focuses more on quarterbacks Will Levis and Sam Darnold.
The over/under on rushing yards for Levis is set at 16.5. Darnold’s is at 11.5. I will be parlaying both overs for total odds of +270 on BetMGM.com.
The Titans have really struggled to contain quarterbacks recently. Even QBs with average mobility seem to be escaping the pocket, extending plays, and hurting Tennessee on the ground.
The Titans allowed nearly 100 rushing yards to Patriots rookie quarterback Drake Maye and Chargers quarterback Justin Hebert hit his rushing yards over on the first drive of the game.
I can absolutely see the Titans trying to plaster in coverage and Darnold escaping the pocket for a couple of productive runs. That’s what happens when your defensive line has trouble getting the QB down and finishing off sacks.
As for Levis, Brian Callahan incorporating some designed QB runs into the game plan last week has me more confident than ever that Levis’ legs will be a big part of Tennessee’s offense. We know he’s not afraid to tuck it and run. He’s not afraid to take a hit, even when it’s ill advised. With how aggressive the Vikings defense is about pressuring the quarterback, I’m all in on Levis having a nice day on the ground and safely hitting 18.5 rushing yards.
Quarterback rushing props have been some of the most profitable bets in the NFL this season. I’m not missing out for Titans-Vikings this week.
