NASHVILLE – Former Tennessee Titans cornerback Caleb Farley is getting another shot in the NFL. Farley is signing with the Carolina Panthers, and is expected to be elevated to the active roster after starting on the practice squad.
Farley was a first-round pick by the Titans in the 2021 NFL Draft that has been through a lot of adversity since getting to the league.
Farley has only played in 12 games in his NFL career. Injuries have continuously plagued him, and even when he has been on the field, it has been a struggle. In 12 games, Farley has been targeted 21 times and allowed 15 catches for 273 yards.
From a torn ACL as a rookie to a spinal injury that plagued him for all of 2023, Farley has been through a lot in his football life. But at times, his personal life has been even more challenging. In August of 2023, Farley's home in North Carolina was destroyed in an explosion. He also lost his father in that accident.
It's an easy player for Titans fans to root for. As badly as everyone wanted to see Farley succeed in Nashville, the acquisitions of L'Jarius Sneed, Chidobe Awuzie, and Jarvis Brownlee Jr. in the secondary this past offseason displaced Farley from Tennessee's roster. The writing had been on the wall for quite some time.
But now the former first round pick is getting another shot in Carolina, and all of Nashville will certainly be cheering him on.
