NASHVILLE — NFL free agency is less than a month away and it's now that time of year where everyone in the football world is taking their best guess at what may happen in the swiftly approaching offseason.

ESPN recently ranked the Top 50 free agents for 2024, and ESPN's Matt Bowen has now tried to find the best fit for all 50.

His article includes the "best fit" for Tennessee Titans running back Derrick Henry, who could be headed elsewhere this March as an unrestricted free agent.

According to Bowen, the team's listed as best fits are "mainly focused on team need, scheme and potential future production," but also factored in salary cap space. Cap space is something the Titans have an abundance of, as they currently sit third in the league in effective cap space per overthecap.com.

But alas, the Titans are not labeled the best fit for Henry by ESPN. Instead, Bowen has the future Hall of Fame running back fitting in nicely with the Baltimore Ravens.

Derrick Henry's fit in Baltimore

"Both J.K. Dobbins and Gus Edwards are set to be free agents, and Keaton Mitchell suffered a knee injury near the end of the 2023 regular season," wrote Bowen about Henry's fit with Baltimore.

"There's an opening here, and Henry could star as the lead back in Todd Monken's offense. Even if his overall play speed is starting to decline, he's a downhill hammer with excellent vision, and he can still find the end zone. Henry had 12 rushing scores last season with the Titans, and he'd upgrade the Ravens' run game when paired with Lamar Jackson."

As much as Titans fans won't want to hear it. As much as it will pain Titans fans to see King Henry wearing Ravens purple like Steve McNair once did…Bowen is right on the money here.

When you factor in the number of touches available, the offensive scheme, the talent on the offensive line, and the overall ability to contend for a Super Bowl, there is no better fit for Derrick Henry in 2024 than the Ravens. It would allow him to amass statistics that add to his resumé while not forcing him to be the primary playmaker in an offense.

The Ravens currently have just over $1 million in effective cap space, so they'd need to get creative and clear some money. But I could absolutely see this happening, and for Henry's sake, would support it.
