NASHVILLE — The writing seems to be on the wall for the Tennessee Titans to select Miami quarterback Cam Ward with the first overall pick in the 2025 NFL draft. But after Ward comes off the board, it’s anyone’s guess what the Titans will do to fill out the rest of their draft class.

As things currently stand, the Titans’ next opportunity to pick after first overall will come the No. 35. After that, it will be pick No. 103 as Tennessee does not currently have a third-rounder.

So much of that is still subject to change. A trade down could happen all the way up until draft night. Tennessee’s hand will not be forced until they are on the clock. With so many variables at play, Titans fans should look back at the 2024 draft class for a clear sign of what is to come.

History of Top 30 Visits

Despite having a new GM in Mike Borgonzi, Tennessee’s President of Football Operations Chad Brinker, a majority of the organization’s scouts, and head coach Brian Callahan were all with the team for the 2024 draft. During the 2024 draft, the Titans made a habit out of bringing in players that they had hosted on a top 30 visit.

J.C. Latham, T’Vondre Sweat, and Jarvis Brownlee Jr. were three of Tennessee’s first four draft picks last year. All three players were brought in for a top 30 visit before the draft. The Titans also had a top 30 visit with Texas Tech offensive lineman Cole Spencer, who they later signed as an undrafted free agent.

Using positional needs, draft rankings, and the Titans' list of visits, it became pretty easy to project what general direction Tennessee was going to move in last year's draft.

So what does this mean for 2025? Well, let’s assume the Titans are going to target the players they are most familiar with and have hosted for a pre-draft visit. Let’s also assume that Cam Ward is the pick at No. 1 overall and therefore remove any prospects from the list that are expected to be drafted in the first round (Carter, Hunter, Sanders).

Here are the remaining prospects on the list that the Titans have hosted for a visit along with their rank on the current consensus big board.

These are all semi-realistic targets for the Titans. I'll be using this as a my list of players that I expect Tennessee to consider drafting. What I find most interesting is the number of players (9) who fall in between picks 35 and 103.

That's a lot of time being spent evaluating players who likely will not be available for the Titans to draft them…Or maybe it's an indicator that Tennessee is looking to move back in the second round and get another Top 100 selection in the process.

Do not be surprised if two or even three of the players listed above wind up wearing two-tone blue in 2025. This is exactly what the Titans did last season.
