NASHVILLE – With a loss on Sunday and help around the league, the Tennessee Titans have officially secured the number one overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.
Tennessee lost by a final score of 23-14 and finished the 2024 regular season with a 3-14 record. That was tied with the Cleveland Browns for the worst record in the league, but due to NFL strength of schedule tiebreakers, the Titans get the advantage in the draft order.
The New England Patriots were on track to pick in front of Tennessee, but New England won on Sunday against the Buffalo Bills.
It was former Tennessee Volunteers quarterback Joe Milton leading the way for the Patriots. Milton had 241 passing yards and two total touchdowns, good for a 23-16 victory.
The Titans now have the their pick of the litter. They can take Shedeur Sanders and get the quarterback of the future. They can take Travis Hunter. If they felt so inclined, Tennessee can even trade down and try to accrue as much draft capital as possible.
One of the biggest questions remaining will be who is making that draft pick. Amy Adams Strunk is expected to stick with head coach Brian Callahan, but is it possible the Titans could make a big move in some capacity? Does ownership need to shake things up after finishing as the league's worst team? We will find out in the coming days.
Shedeur Sanders vs. Cam Ward shouldn’t even be a debate for Tennessee Titans fans in 2025 NFL Draft
Tennessee Titans best quarterback option is clear.
