It’s game day. Super Bowl LVIII between the Kansas City Chiefs and San Francisco 49ers will be kicking off from Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas later this evening with the whole world watching.
It’s the biggest stage in sports. It’s what every football player dreams about and for most of these players, it’s the biggest game they’ll ever play in.
Tennessee Titans fans watching from home may see a few familiar faces during the big game. Here’s all the former Titans players that could be playing in Super Bowl LVIII.
QB Blaine Gabbert
If Blaine Gabbert actually sees the field for Kansas City on Sunday, the Chiefs might be in trouble. The 34-year-old veteran quarterback is the backup to Patrick Mahomes after signing as a free agent last offseason.
Gabbert played one season for the Titans under Mike Vrabel in 2018. He was the backup to Marcus Mariota at the time and actually started three games for Tennessee that season, going 2-1 as the starter.
Gabbert had 626 passing yards, four touchdowns, and four interceptions on the season and was released by Tennessee in March of 2019 when Ryan Tannehill was brought into the quarterback room. He would later sign with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and win a Super Bowl as the backup for Tom Brady.
WR Chris Conley
Wide receiver Chris Conley joined the Titans halfway through the 2022 NFL season and had a limited offensive impact. Conley played in seven games for the Titans in 2022 and had just four receptions for 46 yards.
Conley signed a contract with the 49ers in April of 2023 and was sent to the team's practice squad at the end of training camp. He would played just 10 offensive snaps in San Francisco's first 11 games, but has since found a regular role on special teams.
Because of his special teams impact, Conley was added to the active roster and appeared in the final six games of the regular season as well as the two playoff games San Francisco has already won. In the regular season finale, he had three catches for 69 receiving yards. He also caught a pass in the divisional playoff win over the Packers.
CB Logan Ryan
Logan Ryan was a starting cornerback for the Tennessee Titans from 2017-2019 and was big part of the team's run to the AFC Championship Game in Kansas City. During that playoff run, Ryan had a game-winning interception of Tom Brady that was returned for a touchdown and was Brady's final pass in a Patriots uniform.
Ryan had 8.5 sacks, four interceptions, and over 250 tackles in 45 games played with Tennessee. He then joined the New York Giants and Tampa Bay Buccaneers before finding his way to San Francisco this season.
Ryan played just in five regular season games for San Francisco this season, but has found himself having a much bigger role down the stretch. He started and played 100 percent of the defensive snaps in Week 17, Week 18, and Wild Card Weekend.
