The Tennessee Titans have the resources to absolutely dominate free agency if they want to. They’re set to have over $100 million to spend in March, though I doubt they go on a big blowout spending spree like in the 2024 offseason. It’s a tricky thing, trying to remain disciplined as a Draft & Develop front office who has so many needs to fill and so much money you have to spend. I wrote about GM Mike Borgonzi threading that needle right here.

All of that is to say, keep an eye out for this team to add some splashy talent somewhere for Robert Saleh in free agency. Use this article as a primer for who the top expiring contracts in the NFL are this season. I’ve listed the positions in the order of need that I ranked with analysis in this article here, excluding safety and defensive line. The Titans are certainly liable to go shopping at those positions too, but it’s much less likely they’ll be perusing the most expensive aisles for those players.

The order of each position’s free agent rankings can be quibbled with depending on price and specific fit into a scheme we don’t yet have affirmative information on. Generally speaking, these are the top options out there. I’ve tried my best to note which players I think are doubtful to actually reach the open market before signing back with their old team, but keep in mind that many of these guys will negotiate new contracts to stay home. Teams like keeping their good players! Alright, lets dive in:

Top NFL Free Agents in 2026

Cornerback

  1. Jamel Dean, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
  2. Jaylen Watson, Kansas City Chiefs
  3. Tariq Woolen, Seattle Seahawks
  4. Asante Samuel Jr, Pittsburg Steelers
  5. Mike Hilton, Indianapolis Colts

Of note: Watson sounds likely to stay in Kansas City. Woolen feels like the most likely on this list to reach the open market. The Titans need to find at least two, preferably three capable starters at cornerback in free agency and/or the draft.

Edge Rusher

  1. Trey Hendrickson, Cincinnati Bengals
  2. Jaelan Phillips, Philadelphia Eagles
  3. Odafe Oweh, Los Angeles Chargers
  4. Boye Mafe, Seattle Seahawks
  5. Joey Bosa, Buffalo Bills

Of note: The annual Hendrickson saga in Cincinnati feels more likely to finally come to an end this time. He has to feel burnt by this team’s tight wallet and terrible defense around him. Phillips would be a really exciting option to give Robert Saleh, but I seriously doubt the Eagles traded draft capital for him just to let him walk after being so productive. Oweh sounds likely to stay in Los Angeles as well.

Wide Receiver

  1. Alec Pierce, Indianapolis Colts
  2. Wan’Dale Robinson, New York Giants
  3. Romeo Doubs, Green Bay Packers
  4. Jauan Jennings, San Francisco 49ers
  5. Mike Evans, Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Of note: Read my full analysis of this market for the Titans right here.

Tight End

  1. Kyle Pitts, Atlanta Falcons
  2. David Njoku, Cleveland Browns
  3. Isaiah Likely, Baltimore Ravens
  4. Dallas Goedert, Philadelphia Eagles
  5. Darren Waller, Miami Dolphins

Of note: Chig Okonkwo re-signing with the Titans is a better option than at least the fifth player on this list if you ask me. Waller came out of retirement to join the Dolphins this season. Pitts seems awfully likely to stay in Atlanta, as does Njoku in Cleveland. Likely is sounding more… well, likely to hit the market.

Interior Offensive Line

  1. C Tyler Linderbaum, Baltimore Ravens
  2. G Alijah Vera-Tucker, New York Jets
  3. G Isaac Seumalo, Pittsburg Steelers
  4. G David Edwards, Buffalo Bills
  5. G Joel Bitonio, Cleveland Browns

Of note: I’ll be really surprised to see Linderbaum hit the market. Seumalo has been a LG most of his career, but logged over 1100 snaps at RG in 2022. Edwards and Bitonio have been left guards only. Vera-Tucker is the biggest risk/reward player on this list: fantastic when he’s healthy, but coming off of his third season-ending injury.

Running Back

  1. Kenneth Walker, Seattle Seahawks
  2. Breece Hall, New York Jets
  3. Tyler Allgeier, Atlanta Falcons
  4. Javante Williams, Dallas Cowboys
  5. Travis Etienne Jr, Jacksonville Jaguars

Of note: With the playoff loss of Charbonnet, I find it highly unlikely Walker reaches the market. The Cowboys sound interested in bringing back Williams as well.

Backup Quarterback

  1. Marcus Mariota, Washington Commanders
  2. Jimmy Garoppolo, Los Angeles Rams
  3. Russell Wilson, New York Giants
  4. Tyrod Taylor, New York Jets
  5. Kenny Pickett, Las Vegas Raiders

Of note: Mariota and Garoppolo likely stay put.

Linebacker

  1. Devin Lloyd, Jacksonville Jaguars
  2. Devin Bush, Cleveland Browns
  3. Leo Chenal, Kansas City Chiefs
  4. Alex Anzalone, Detroit Lions
  5. Nakobe Dean, Philadelphia Eagles

Of note: Bush sounds likely to return in Cleveland, though the ugly coaching saga there raises questions. Dean seemingly wants to stay put as well.
