NASHVILLE — Antonio Pierce, who was previously the interim head coach for the Las Vegas Raiders, has been hired by the organization as the full-time head coach .

The move comes after multiple Raiders players, including star pass rusher Maxx Crosby, advocated for Pierce to get the job. Crosby threatened to request a trade of Pierce was not hired.

Pierce had interviewed with the Tennessee Titans for the team’s head coach position earlier this week, but now lands a full-time in Vegas where he belongs.

“Missing out” on Pierce, if you can even call it that, is a good thing for the Titans as far as I’m concerned. I had labeled Pierce as the most overrated candidate interviewing for the job in Tennessee and he came in at dead last in my rankings.

Not only is Pierce a defensive minded coach that Tennessee needs to avoid, he has also been attached to scandals at the collegiate level and struggled to win while coaching a powerhouse high school roster.

I don’t think this hire is going to age well for the Raiders, even if it’s the move they needed to make to appease their players and fans.
