NASHVILLE – The Tennessee Titans have reportedly agreed to terms with free agent safety Jamal Adams, as first reported by ESPN's Turron Davenport.

Adams is a former first-round draft pick that has been selected to three Pro Bowls and named an All-Pro for the New York Jets in 2019.

During Pro Bowl season for the Jets in 2018 and 2019, Titans defensive coordinator Dennard Wilson was Adams' DB coach. Now the pair are reunited in Nashville.

Finding a veteran safety was one of the last things the Titans front office needed to take care of this offseason. Ran Carthon and company were aggressive about fixing the offensive line and secondary, but Tennessee's defense was still left with a massive hole at safety.

Kevin Byard was traded during the 2023 season and Elijah Molden profiles better as a slot cornerback than a true safety.

Adams will now form a dangerous safety tandem with Amani Hooker in Tennessee. The health concerns are real with Adams, but who can blame the Titans for taking a big swing? It's what they've done all offseason.
