NASHVILLE – The Tennessee Titans are bringing back an old friend after a surprising injury update on Tuesday morning.

With veteran kicker Nick Folk dealing with an injury, Tennessee is signing Brayden Narveson back to the team's practice squad. If Folk is unable to play against the Cincinnati Bengals, Narveson will suit up for the Titans.

Narveson signed with Tennessee as an undrafted free agent out of NC State and put himself on the map with a 59-yard field goal in the preseason that was later followed with a game-winner.

While the Titans decided to stick with the reliable veteran in Folk, Narveson's preseason work landed him an opportunity for the Green Bay Packers to start the regular season.

In six games with Green Bay, Narveson made 12 of his 27 field goal tries. He really struggled from outside of 40 yards. Accuracy had been an issue for him in Titans training camp practices as well, but the rookie masked some of that with a nice job in the preseason games and his range.

Narveson was released by the Packers on October 15th and has since been awaiting his next opportunity. It's a real full circle moment if he ends up seeing regular season action in a Titans uniform.

Folk's injury news comes as a big surprise. There was no indication that he was dealing with something during Sunday's loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars. The 40-year-old veteran made both of his field goal tries in the game and improved to a league-leading 95.5 percent on the year.

In total over two seasons, Folk has made 50 of 52 field goal attempts in a Titans uniform. He is 11 of 12 from 50+ yards and one of those misses was blocked. Narveson will have some big shoes to fill just like he did when he was competing for the job with Folk in training camp.
