INDIANAPOLIS – Everybody wants to know what the Tennessee Titans are going to do with the first overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. That dominated the conversation on during Tennessee's media availability at the combine.

Titans GM Mike Borgonzi spoke to the media about it all on Tuesday morning. Borgonzi gave a little bit of insight into the teams that have called to express interest in trading up and the expectations he has about a return package.

"Anytime you have the number one overall pick, [trading it] is always going to be a topic of conversation. I'll say, we've had some phone calls. I'll keep those phone calls to the vest," he said, not wanting to give up too much information.

"Anytime you’re trading up to the number one pick, you’re expecting a big return. That’s our expectation," Borgonzi asserted.

Titans trade returns

It may not matter what teams are offering in return. If the Titans find one of the quarterbacks to be "the guy," they are not going to pass up on that opportunity. I also think there's a world where Tennessee turns down a bigger trade package in order to avoid trading back too far.

Obviously, if the Titans are moving off the first overall pick, there is still a target player in mind. Abdul Carter and Travis Hunter immediately come to mind. If you trade back too far, it could get you more draft picks, but it takes you out of range to get one of those impact payers.

All of it is part of the equation. I'm sure those details have been part of Borgonzi's conversations with other teams about moving the pick, as well as Tennessee's overall draft strategy.

We know the Titans are going to do their due diligence, but it all comes down to the quarterback evaluations.
