The Tennessee Titans rounded out their 53-man roster throughout this week. Tough decisions were made. Veterans were on the chopping block. GM Ran Carthon and co. navigated it well, adding some value through trades, too.
The best part of this time of the offseason for the NFL is lesser known players making the active roster, though. For Tennessee, a handful of guys got directly informed by Carthon that they had made the team.
Titans share emotional reactions from 53-man roster
Throughout the video, players mentioned the culture around the current team. You can tell that the new staff and leadership have made an impression on guys, especially ones working especially hard just to have a spot on the team.
For the Titans, most teams don't do this sort of thing. Usually, it's a phone call or even no communication at all to a player that made the cut.
Rather, plenty of NFL teams will only contact players that they have to let go during the roster cutdown. Clearly, Carthon, Brian Callahan, and his staff want to do things a bit differently.
Players appreciate that. Fans should, too.
This sort of content shows how hard many players work around the entire league just to get an opportunity to play a snap in a regular season game. All of their determination comes to a heed when they receive this sort of news.
