NASHVILLE — With the Tennessee Titans officially eliminated from playoff contention, it's the time of year that fans begin directing their attention to the projected 2024 NFL Draft order.

Titans fans have their eyes on a top five pick in the upcoming draft, and the order is still subject to change. As things currently stand, Tennessee would be picking ninth. But five teams are all tied with a 5-9 record.

Here's a comprehensive rooting guide for every Titans fan this weekend and five things that need to happen to ensure Tennessee gets a better draft pick.

1. Chicago beats Arizona

The 5-9 Chicago Bears have been playing much better football recently than they were to begin the season. Chicago is 3-3 in their last six games with all three losses coming by one score.

The Cardinals have been more competitive since Kyler Murray returned at quarterback, but Arizona is still allowing the second most points per game this season.

With a win, the Bears would improve to 6-9 and the Titans would jump them in the draft order.

2. Chargers defeat Bills

This one feels like a longshot, but perhaps the Los Angeles Chargers will be riding some interim head coach magic when they take the field against Buffalo. This game is being played on Saturday night, so in case you needed something to watch, tune in and root for the Chargers.

The Chargers do not have an easy game remaining on the schedule. After hosting the Bills this weekend, Los Angeles will travel to Denver before hosting Kansas City in the regular season finale. The Titans need them to win one of their remaining three games. May as well get it out of the way now.

3. DeVito Whacks the Eagles

The New York Giants are 3-2 in games that Tommy DeVito has started at quarterback. On the other hand, the Philadelphia Eagles have lost three in a row after a 10-1 start. Hopefully for the Titans, those trends continue this weekend and the G-men are able to pull off the upset in Philly.

The Giants are tied with the Titans in record at 5-9 and have tough games against the Eagles and red hot Los Angeles Rams to end the season. The Titans need the Giants to win one game to jump them in draft order, and their best shot of doing that might come right now with momentum on New York's side.

4. Commanders win over Jets

With the New York Jets sitting at 5-9, rooting for them to pick up a sixth victory may seem like the logical thing to do on paper. But it would actually help the Titans more if Washington comes out victorious in this matchup.

In the final two games of the season, the Jets will play the Joe Flacco led Cleveland Browns and the 3-11 New England Patriots. Even if they don't get a win over Washington on Sunday, there's still a really good chance that they win one more time before the season's end and finish at 6-11.

If the Commanders win, they'll be sitting at 5-10 and tied with the Titans (if Tennessee loses to Seattle). The tiebreaker for draft position is strength of schedule, and while the Titans are currently on pace to lose that tiebreaker to Washington, wins by the Dallas Cowboys and Philadelphia Eagles in the final weeks could really close that gap.

There's a chance the Titans jump both of these teams if Washington wins on Sunday.

5. Titans former opponents lose

As I just mentioned, the tiebreaker for draft position when team's finish with the same record is your strength of schedule. The team with the lower SOS receives the higher draft picks because they lost to "worse teams."

Essentially, anybody the Titans played this season needs to lose when they are playing team's the Titans did not play this season. Lower that SOS over the next few weeks and the Titans could find themselves winning some tiebreakers and picking in the Top 5.

Tennessee already got the result they needed on Thursday Night Football with the Saints losing to the Rams. But other results worth rooting for are the Packers to beat the Panthers, the Cowboys to beat the Dolphins, and the 49ers to beat the Ravens.

If Tennessee has played them, they need to lose. If Tennessee has played both teams in a matchup, it likely doesn't natter who wins.
