The Tennessee Titans just completed their biggest task of the entire offseason.

They've locked up star defensive lineman Jeffery Simmons up on a long-term extension. It's a massive win for the start of the Ran Carthon era in Nashville.

As for the contract details, it's a big chunk of change for the young, blossoming DL.

Simmons' new deal with the Titans is a four-year extension worth $94 million, including $66 million guaranteed.

That's an AAV of $23.5 million per year for Simmons.

For the Titans, it becomes the largest non-quarterback contract that the organization has ever given out.

It is for good reason. Simmons is the biggest piece at the center of the future for the defense in Tennessee.

Additionally, Simmons becomes the highest-paid defensive tackle in the NFL not named Aaron Donald. Quite impressive.

Pay your best players. Don't allow them to walk out the door.

The Titans have done that with Simmons.
