Titans player gets money taken out of his pocket after being snubbed from 2025 NFL Pro Bowl rosters

NASHVILLE – For the first time since 2012, the Tennessee Titans did not have a single player selected to the initial Pro Bowl rosters this year.
Titans running back Tony Pollard was one of four Titans players (Pollard, Simmons, Hooker, and Stonehouse) to be named as an alternate. But Pollard probably has the best case of the four for being "snubbed."
Unfortunately for Pollard, Texans running back Joe Mixon was given the third and final AFC roster spot, and that takes a significant chunk of change out of Pollard's pocket.
The 27-year-old Titans running back has a $100,000 incentive in his contract for making the Pro Bowl on the "original ballot." So while it's one thing to get snubbed from an honor that you deserve, it's another thing entirely to have it cost you a six-figure pay day.
Former Titans, current Ravens RB Derrick Henry (1,783 rush yards) and Colts RB Jonathan Taylor (1,254 rush yards) were easy choices for Pro Bowl honors. But Pollard has a legitimate case to make against Mixon. Even if he were to be named to the Pro Bowl roster as a replacement, he would not qualify for the incentive.
Pollard has 1,255 yards from scrimmage this season while Mixon is at 1,297. But those numbers can be deceiving. Pollard has been running behind the Tennessee Titans offensive line this season, and he's been one of the league's best at making something out of nothing.
if you've watched Titans games this year, you know that Pollard has been the heart and soul of Tennessee's offense. Even when things are not going well for the titans, Pollard has always seemed to give them life. So it should come as no surprise that Pollard is better than Mixon in yards after contact.
With comparable statistics, I think Pollard deserves a little credit for the value that he has added to his team this season. It makes him more deserving of the Pro Bowl nod in my eyes.
Pollard still has remaining incentives if he can tally 86 rushing yards in Week 18 and get to 1,100 on the season ($250,000) or if he can score two rushing touchdowns for a season total of seven ($200,000).
Shedeur Sanders vs. Cam Ward shouldn’t even be a debate for Tennessee Titans fans in 2025 NFL Draft
Tennessee Titans best quarterback option is clear.
