Titans fans’ longstanding nightmare continues.
Titans sputter in second half again
How much consolation can be found in a season filled with so much losing?
It depends on your perspective, I suppose. Tennessee was never going to be a conventionally “good” team in 2025. They also had absolutely no business starting the year with a 1-11 record for as much of the roster that they turned over from a 3-14 finish season in 2024.
For a considerable portion of the season, this Titans team was the worst football team the franchise has fielded.
It was critically important that Tennessee’s young team centered around 2025 No. 1 overall pick at quarterback Cam Ward show they were capable of that kind of progress at some point this season. While the young passer and the team around him have shown growth. Winning two out of their last four contests is an improvement, but the second half performance by both Ward and the defense left so much to be desired.
Ward finished the game 21-of-40 for 251 yards and two passing touchdowns. Both scores came in the first half after Ward started 11-of-15 for 146.
