NASHVILLE – Tennessee Titans head coach Brian Callahan has never been a fan of throwing a hail mary at the end of the first half. I've talked with him in detail about how the risks far outweigh the reward in his eyes.
For whatever reason, the Titans abandoned that philosophy on Sunday against the Jacksonville Jaguars, attempting a final pass play from midfield with one second remaining before halftime.
But in classic Titans fashion, incompetent offensive line play got second-year quarterback Will Levis drilled and hurt on a meaningless snap. Left tackle J.C. Latham got beat by Josh Hines-Allen off the edge, who clobbered Levis for a sack.
Levis was slow to get up after the play and went to the locker room holding his right shoulder. This, of course, comes after Levis missed over a month earlier in the season with a right shoulder injury. That missed time really stunted his development, but Levis had been looking much improved since returning.
Will Levis has returned at quarterback for the Titans in the second half as we all continue to monitor throughout the game.
Titans' back stretch of the 2024 regular season
The end of the 2024 regular season was supposed to be a pivotal time for the Titans to assess Levis and figure out if he should be the quarterback in 2025. Depending on how severe the injury is, this could seriously impact Levis' future and the direction of the franchise.
All because you abandoned your philosophy and your offensive line can't protect him. It's embarrassing. Stay tuned for more updated on Levis' health.
A to Z Sports' Titans Halftime Show immediately drew great response from fans about the decision to drop Levis back to throw before half.
