The Tennessee Titans started Will Levis at quarterback against the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday but then rotated Malik Willis in.
Willis first replaced Levis on the fourth snap of Tennessee's opening drive and it didn't go over too well. Willis fumbled a bad snap and couldn't recover it, which ended in Atlanta taking a 3-0 lead.
Levis took the QB1 job back over until the second quarter when head coach Mike Vrabel had Willis come out for a four-yard carry, which fans didn't take a liking to and started booing Willis when he ran back off the field.
Levis and several other of Willis' teammates did not like the boos directed toward him and had some words for the Tennessee fanbase after the game.
Boos Left a Sour Taste Will Levis's Mouth
"It left a sour taste in our mouth hearing those boos when he was coming on the field, Levis said. "I've got you to know that he's going to be a big part of this going forward to win games, so let's just come correct next time as fans and treat him correctly."
DeAndre Hopkins Didn't 'Expect' to Hear Boos in Tennessee
"For Titans fans, us in the locker room, we don't appreciate the boos for Malik," Hopkins said. "He's on this team and he's part of us. That's not something I expected coming here, and I don't think that's very fair."
Derrick Henry Says Booing 'Doesn't Help'
"I was in the game and we were going forward and I was like 'What are they booing about?' and I look around and see Malik go out and Will come in. And I realize they're booing Malik.
"He's a part of the team. He was drafted here. He's worked as hard as he can to make it to this point and he'll do anything he can to help this organization win. He's a great teammate. You know, he works his tail off each and every day to be ready and to come in and make plays. And that's all he's trying to do. I understand the fans are frustrated when we lose but we are all frustrated. Nobody wants to win more than we do as players because we go out there and try to do the best we can to showcase and go out there and win games and have the fans in it.
"We're all a family so it just doesn't help being booed when you're just trying to go in there and make a play. And I'm sure it was his dream since a kid to come play in the NFL and for an organization and I just feel like that ain't needed for somebody that's just come in to help us win. Malik's a great kid, a great person and he'll do anything to help this organization win."
Jeffery Simmons Thinks Booing is Far From Cool
Simmons didn't speak to the media after the game but took to X/Twitter to share his thoughts on Titans fans booing Willis.
"Shit not cool at all!"- Simmons wrote in a tweet.
