The Tennessee Titans are expected to be "aggressive" in free agency according to a report from Pro Football Network NFL insider Adam Caplan.
"Word around the league from multiple sources is that the team plans to be 'fairly' aggressive in free agency," wrote Caplan early on Monday morning. "Defensively, one top target, according to multiple sources, is expected to be veteran CB Chidobe Awuzie."
"The Titans, who a league source familiar with the team’s thinking, is looking for a high-character veteran who will 'set the standard' in practice and on the field," added Caplan.
Caplan also noted that defensive back CJ Gardner-Johnson could be a target for the Titans.
The Titans' expected "aggressiveness" extends to the offensive side of the ball as well.
According to Caplan, the Titans are expected to target a running back to pair with Tyjae Spears so the franchise can operate with a two-back system.
Free agent running backs Tony Pollard and Devin Singletary are two veterans that Caplan suggested Titans fans should keep an eye on.
At wide receiver, Caplan pointed out Calvin Ridley and Darnell Mooney as options that have come up in conversations about the Titans with league sources. Caplan noted that Tennessee wants to add speed to their wide receiver group.
The Titans have over $70 million in available cap space.
NFL teams can begin negotiating with free agents at 12:00 PM ET on Monday. Deals, however, can't become official until Wednesday at 4:00 PM ET.
