Commanders 2026 NFL Draft Prospect Preview: Washington can boost its corner room at the Senior Bowl
The Commanders have plenty of options at the Senior Bowl to bolster their secondary and improve their corner positions.
The Washington Commanders will have their eyes set on some of the top prospects at the 2026 Panini Senior Bowl in Mobile, Alabama.
Head coach Dan Quinn is still looking for his next defensive coordinator, but they also need to add more talent to the roster. There will be plenty of EDGE prospects to watch at the Senior Bowl, but they also need to look for better additions in the secondary. The Commanders need to decide whether to play Mike Sainrisitl on the inside or the outside and find another starter.
The Senior Bowl has plenty of versatile corners worth keeping an eye on in the third round and beyond that, who the Commanders could target.
Third round CB options for the Commanders
Chandler Rivers, Duke
Chandler Rivers is an underrated corner prospect who can play in multiple alignments on defense. At 5-10, 185 pounds, Rivers likely projects best as a nickel corner in the NFL, but he doesn’t shy away from contact on the outside either. He’s also a tackling machine in the run game and has the ability to blow up plays at the line of scrimmage. Rivers has the spatial awareness to excel in zone coverage, and has sticky controlled footwork to play in man coverage as well. He’d be an excellent pick at 71, and an instant boost to the defense.
Daylen Everette, Georgia
If the Commanders are looking for an outside corner, Daylen Everette is an option at pick 71. Everette is 6-1, 190 pounds, and still just 21 years old with room to grow and develop even more. He has strong hands and excels in press coverage, and plays well at the catch point with aggressive hands. Georgia loved to use him downhill as a physical tackler in the run game and on blitzes. He’s a player who has been ascending year after year, and that’s what you want to see from a draft prospect.
Day Three CB options for the Commanders
Treydan Stukes, Arizona
Treydan Stukes is the most exciting draft prospect that you haven’t heard of yet, but you will. He’s a 6-2, 200-pound physical defensive back with an impressive frame. Stukes is an elite athlete who has some of the best movement you will see out in space, and it helps him be in a position to become a ball hawk. He can play in the slot, at free safety, and in the box, and is just an overall weapon in the secondary. Stukes finished 2025 with four interceptions and six pass breakups with zero penalties. Easily one of my favorite players in the draft that will blow up at the Senior Bowl, and shoot up into that third-round range.
Davison Igbinosun, Ohio State
Davison Igbinosun greatly improved in 2025, and his biggest upgrade came from his drop in penalties after getting 13 in 2024. He can still be handsy at times, and some people suggest he move to safety, but I’d still give him a look at outside corner because of his positive flashes. Igbinosun has great long-speed on the outside to close cushions, and a long frame to break up passes. He’s also physical in the run game and not afraid to run downhill to seek contact. Igbinosun is an overall excellent corner prospect who can be a solid starter if he can control his hands in the NFL, or things will go downhill if he’s called for a lot of holding and pass interference calls.

Commanders’ latest defensive coordinator candidate would be a status hire over actual results
The Commanders are interviewing Steelers defensive coordinator Teryl Austin, and it wouldn’t be the right hire to make after recent results.
