Commanders Injury Report: Terry McLaurin’s injury status takes a turn for the worse, and that’s just one of many problems
The Commanders need McLaurin back, but it doesn’t look good.
The Washington Commanders are looking to get a massive win on the road against the Dallas Cowboys, but they might be short-handed like they have been all season.
The roster has had major injuries so far this season, like many other teams around the league, and it doesn’t seem to be getting any better. The Commanders already sent injury-prone Noah Brown to IR, so he will miss at least four weeks, but they were supposed to get Terry McLaurin back this week.
That might not be the case with Thursday’s injury report listing McLaurin as a “Did Not Practice” when he was supposed to be a full participant.

Wednesday was a light practice, and head coach Dan Quinn said Thursday would be a full practice just yesterday.
“He’ll practice this week,” Quinn said. “And I’ll have a better sense where we’re going because today [Wednesday] is going to be more at a jog through pace where we’re not full speed up and going, but that’ll be more as we get into tomorrow [Thursday]. But I’ll have a better assessment after we go through, like some full speed, you know, routes and movements to see where he is at. But I’m excited where he is trending.”
Things were trending up for McLaurin, who was a limited participant on Wednesday, so what changed? McLaurin’s absence is becoming a real burden on this team, which needs to win now. Hopefully, he can practice on Friday and give it a go on Sunday.
McLaurin isn’t the only key player we’re watching; Deebo Samuel hasn’t practiced this week as he fights through a bruised heel. You could tell it was bothering him some during the game Monday night, and they desperately need him out there, especially if McLaurin doesn’t play.
Defensive end Dorance Armstrong is the other name to worry about. He’s hands down the Commanders’ best defensive player, and they need him in the worst way possible, even to have a chance against that Cowboys’ offense. There’s only one more practice left for those three players, so tomorrow will be the tell-all for their health.
