The Washington Commanders took a big hit on Monday night when Austin Ekeler left the game with a concussion and things got worse on Wednesday. Head coach Dan Quinn announced that Ekeler is out on Sunday against the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday.

That's a tough blow for the Commanders as they head out west to face the Cardinals. Ekeler has been playing well during his first season in Kliff Kingsbury's offense. As the running mate of Brian Robinson in the backfield, Ekeler has been used in a more selective fashion.

However, it's spiked his efficiency. He has a 69.2% success rate on the ground, which would be a career-high by 13.4% and a 77.8% success rate through the air, which would also be a career-high by 21.3%.

Ekeler was likely to miss Sunday's game with a concussion and a short week. Hopefully, he won't miss more than one week.
