Marshon Lattimore's hamstring injury delayed his Washington Commanders debut for about six weeks and now he's dealing with another injury just two games after his return to action.

Lattimore exited Sunday's contest against the Philadelphia Eagles at some point in the second half with left hamstring injury. Commanders head coach Dan Quinn did not have an update when spoke with reporters on Monday and is waiting to see what happens on Thursday. The team is switching up Tuesday and Wednesday in terms of practice sessions so players can spend time with their families on Christmas. Then, things resume as normal on Thursday.

"I think honestly, I'll probably have a better indicator as we get into Thursday and Friday on some of the guys," said Quinn. "So what we're going to do with the team is we're going to switch Wednesday and Tuesday. And so we're going to do tomorrow as our first install day, and that's going to be a jog-through portion, and then we'll get back to full speed on Thursday. So basically we're just going to flip Tuesday and Wednesday.

"So tomorrow won't be a full-speed work. So [right tackle] [Andrew] Wiley and Marshon would be two that I'll have a better sense for as we work through some more of the week, especially after Thursday and into Friday."

The Commanders obviously are hoping for good news on Thursday. Lattimore's absence was immediately felt against the Eagles. Sure, he allowed AJ Brown to haul in five catches for 68-yards and a touchdown and drew three defensive pass interference calls (one was very questionable), but he also broke up a few passes and held Brown to a 50% catch rate. He certainly would've been covering Brown on the 4th and 7 play where Brown got away from Benjamin St Juste for a 15-yard catch-and-run. It's completely logical to think Lattimore could've -and would've- stopped Brown on that play.

We'll see how things shake out on Thursday, but don't expect the Commanders to rush things. It won't be a surprise if they play this slow like they did the initial injury since hamstrings/soft muscle injuries are so finicky. Washington is in a good spot to make the playoffs, so it's more important to have Lattimore ready to go for those games than the next two against the Atlanta Falcons and Dallas Cowboys.
