The singer became a part of the league when her relationship with Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce went public just over a year ago.
And everyone wants a piece of what has become known as the 'Taylor Swift Effect.'
The latest to benefit is the Washington Commanders.
But it's not in the way that other teams have since her presence became regular at games.
On Thursday, Commanders offensive coordinator Kliff Kingsbury admitted that rookie tight end Ben Sinnott's first NFL catch that resulted in a touchdown in Washington's win over the Carolina Panthers last Sunday came on a play named "Taylor Swift."
“His first catch was a touchdown and the play was called ‘Taylor Swift,’ so you can’t really beat that to start your NFL scoring career,” Kingsbury said. “He was stoked about it. He’s been getting better and better. I think the game’s slowing down for him. He’s a tremendous talent.”
This was a recent addition to the Commanders playbook.
“We probably carried it three weeks and just finally got to calling it,” Kingsbury said.
“There’s a bunch of them. But that’s a good one,” he added about the play. “We’ll use that again.”
Now we'll just have to wait and see what the pop star thinks about her name being used for a play by a team that isn't the Chiefs.
