The Philadelphia Eagles made a series of roster moves on Tuesday.
The team signed tight end Noah Togiai and offensive lineman Lecitus Smith to the practice squad. They also opened the 21-day practice window for safety Justin Evans and released tight E.J. Jenkins from the practice squad.
Togiai re-joins the Eagles for a third time after having short stints in 2020 and 2021. He's also made stops at the Indianapolis Colts, Arizona Cardinals and Los Vegas Raiders.
The Eagles could use the extra depth at tight end while Dallas Goedert deals with a forearm injury that will keep him out for several weeks.
Stepping up in Goedert's absence is nothing new for Togia, who did it alongside Jack Stoll and Grant Calcaterra last December.
Smith comes to Philly after the Eagles had some offensive linemen poached from their practice squad over the last few weeks.
He made two starts in 10 games for the Arizona Cardinals as a rookie in 2022. Smith most recently spent two weeks on the Houston Texans practice squad. He can be used as a center or guard backup.
Evans had spent the last month on injured reserve with a knee injury that he sustained against the Los Angeles Rams in Week 5.
Prior to landing on the IR. Evans racked up 14 tackles, two pass deflections, one forced fumble, and a fumble recovery in four games. He'll be eligible to return to action as soon as next Monday against the Kansas City Chiefs.
The Eagles made two other roster moves yesterday.
One Eagles player that ‘doesn’t get talked about enough’
