The Philadelphia Eagles had one of the best seasons in the history of their franchise, outside of the Super Bowl wins. They were a missed field goal away from going into overtime and potentially winning the game.
But, they didn't and we move on. These things happen, even if they do sting a bit or a lot. I know seeing the players upset afterward only makes it worse for the fans as well.
Seeing Jason Kelce upset, after getting to know him and his family even more throughout the last week, stung for sure. And then you add on top of the fact that he may be retiring and you may start crying.
But I think there are plenty of reasons for Kelce not to retire. Obviously retiring is great for guys when they are ready, as they get to get away from one of the most physically demanding sports in the world.
Just think, he is the best center in the league and if not, he is definitely top-three. So, he would be leaving during some of his best years. He also shouldn't retire because the team is easily set up to continue to make more deep playoff runs for the next few years, so may as well stay and try for another ring.
Those are all really good reasons why Kelce shouldn't retire. But, there is one reason that it seems no one is mentioning.
We all know that next year the Eagles will be getting another uniform combination in the "Kelly Green" uniforms. Believe it or not, that is just another great reason for Kelce to come back.
Those uniforms are historical, and who wouldn't want to buy one with Kelce's name on the back, and I'm sure he would want to rep one before he retires.
In all seriousness though, Kelce can do whatever he wants, and fans will support him. He has had a great career and deserves whatever decision he wants to make.
