Even in their week off, the Philadelphia Eagles’ coaching staff has been as busy as can be during the NFL’s Wild Card weekend.

While the Eagles await their Divisional Round opponent, the team’s coaching staff has been pulled in all sorts of different directions over the last few days. Offensive coordinator Shane Steichen and defensive coordinator Jonathan Gannon are two of the hottest names in the 2023 coaching carousel.

Steichen has completed interviews with the Texans, Colts, and Panthers for their head coaching vacancies. Meanwhile, Gannon has also  interviewed with Houston, where he is currently being tabbed as a frontrunner.

Prior to Sunday’s postseason action, CBS Sports’ NFL Insider Jonathan Jones reported that Gannon is the favorite to land the Texans’ job.

For Eagles’ fans worried about the possible distraction that head coaching interviews might provide, do not fret. Philadelphia’s coaching staff will face one of the following three teams: New York Giants, Dallas Cowboys, or Tampa Buccaneers.

Being in the NFC East, the Eagles have already squared off with the Giants and Cowboys twice. Plus, it was Tom Brady and the Bucs that knocked the Eagles out of the playoffs last season.

No matter what lies ahead for the two coordinators, they are each in a position to win a Super Bowl this season. There is no guarantee that either coach will be in this particular spot again, especially if they win up taking a job with a perennial bottom-feeder.
