After picking the Philadelphia Eagles' best Round 1 draft target, it's time to take a look who they should turn to in Round 2.
Suppose the Eagles address their glaring secondary need at cornerback with their first pick of the draft by selecting Toledo and NFL Combine standout Quinyon Mitchell. In that case, they should move on to taking an edge with at least one of their two second-round picks.
The Eagles pick at No. 50 and No. 53 in the second round this year.
Below we'll look at the best pick that they should target in Round 2.
The Eagles should select Penn State Edge Adisa Isaac with the No. 50 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft
There are conflicting rumors that Haason Reddick could be on his way out after the Eagles permitted him to seek a trade.
Reddick did not request a trade but the Eagles giving him the option to look elsewhere means they may not be hell-bent on paying the 30-year-old rusher the kind of money that he is looking for.
With that said, the Eagles should look draft Penn State edge Adisa Isaac in the second round if he is available.
Isaac bounced back in 2022 from a torn Achilles and played in all 12 games where he logged 11 tackles, five assists, 4 sacks, and 32 total pressures.
He looked even stronger during his final season with the Nittany Lions as he registered 24 tackles, nine assists, nine sacks, and 31 total pressures.
How Isaac Graded Out at the Combine
Isaac officially weighed in at 6-foot-4 and 247 pounds at the 2024 NFL Combine.
Here are the rest of his results from the combine testing:
- Arm length: 33 7/8 inches
- Hand size: 9 5/8 inches
- 40-yard dash: 4.74 seconds
- 10-yard split: 1.64 seconds
- Vertical: 34.5 inches
- Broad jump: 10’3″
Isaac totaled a score of 72 which ranked 10th among all edges at the event.
He didn't score as high as his fellow teammate Chop Robinson, but that just means he should still be on the board when the Eagles are on the clock in the second round.
Final Word
Even if the Eagles and Reddick end up agreeing on a new deal in the coming days, they're still going to need to plan for a future without him.
Philly will have the chance to get another look at Isaac when he participates in Penn State's Pro Day later this month.
