Jalen Hurts is now in the top spot of the MVP race. Many people already had him there, which is okay, but after the game Patrick Mahomes had against the Broncos, the Philadelphia Eagles' quarterback has sole possession of that top spot, in my opinion.
You have to factor in everything. For the whole season, they have been the best team in the league. Hurts has been at the helm of that, leading them to a 12-1 record.
Hurts has also been the best running quarterback in the league, by far, and is making throws the top quarterbacks in the league make. In my opinion, he is having a very Lamar Jackson-like season from when he won the MVP.
But people are still going to hate. He has dealt with it since he has joined the league, and because of the type of player he is, or rather, the way he plays, it won't leave him anytime soon.
“I carry my scars with me everywhere I go. I don’t forget," Hurts told the media. "Do I waste my energy worrying about the opinion of someone else? No… Everyone and their opinion doesn’t deposit at the bank.”
While Hurts is only 10th in passing yards at 3,157, he is fourth in completion percentage at 68%, fifth in passing touchdowns with 22, and of every starting quarterback in the league, he has the least amount of interceptions with three.
Hurts is fourth in QBR at 70.4, and first in rating at 108.4. Hurts is also sixth in the league in rushing touchdowns. Oh, did I mention he is also 12-1, and on the best team in the league?
Right now the MVP award Hurts' to lose, and he doesn't care what you think. Deposit that.
