The Philadelphia Eagles' offense took off during the first half of Super Bowl LVII. Quarterback Jalen Hurts and the Eagles took a 24-14 lead into halftime as Hurts made Super Bowl history in the process.
Hurts became the first player in Super Bowl history to rush for two touchdowns and throw for one. Keep in mind, he managed to write his name in the record books in the first half of play.
Hurts opened the scoring with a one-yard touchdown rush, but it was his 45-yard dart to A.J. Brown that really got the ball rolling for Philly.
Hurts did have a costly fumble that resulted in a Chiefs scoop and score, but he bounced right back up and responded with a four-yard touchdown scamper.
Philadelphia’s offense has been humming, averaging 6.1 yards per play in the first half. The Eagles’ third down success will be something to monitor in the final 30 minutes of action. It should be noted that teams with a double-digit halftime lead are 26-1 in Super Bowl history.
