At times, cornerback James Bradberry has flown under the radar on the star-studded Philadelphia Eagles defense. However, his impact has been impossible to ignore in his first season with the Birds.

Though he hasn’t gotten proper recognition for his play, Giants safety Julian Love made sure to include him in his list of the NFL’s top three defensive backs that are currently playing.

“I have James Bradberry. It’s a tough pick because he’s an Eagles, but he was a Giant,” Love said alongside Jason McCourty on NFL Network’s Good Morning Football. “Four picks this year, JB is a student of his craft. He’s very aggressive, but he’s cautious when he needs to be. He had a great year this year, he has another dog on the opposite side of him. That defense, I think he’s leading the front over there. He’s a special pickup, one-year deal this year, so we’ll see how he does in the Super Bowl.”

Competing for attention in this season’s Eagles secondary is a constant fight. Safety C.J. Gardner-Johnson finished tied atop the NFL in interceptions even after missing five games. Opposite of Bradberry is Darius Slay, who was recently named to his fourth career Pro Bowl.

That being said, the Kansas City Chiefs will absolutely account for Bradberry when putting together their game plan for Super Bowl LVII. Bradberry will be tasked with shutting down the Chiefs’ passing game on the outside. If he can stand his ground, the Eagles should find themselves in position to hoist the Lombardi Trophy for the second time in five years.
