The Philadelphia Eagles are getting some recognition that they deserve, but that actually has nothing to do with the players. Head coach Nick Sirianni is recognized as one of the best coaches in the league and has one of the better seasons by a coach.

This season the Philadelphia Eagles had the second-ranked offense and eighth-ranked defense, making them one of the most balanced teams in the league, if not the most.

They can attack you from every level on offense, and they can lock up on defense in every way. That is a product of great coaching.

Because of that, Sirianni is recognized as a finalist for the Coach of the Year Award.

"Oh, man! …That's something I can't control," Sirianni told the media on Wednesday. "Those awards are nice… I'm really happy for Jalen and Shane that they're on that, but we have obviously much bigger things in our sights than individual awards."

Sirianni is the type of guy that will give the award to his entire staff because he feels they are the reason the team is coached so well. And, they are a huge reason the team is coached so well.

But, guess what? Who do you think assembled the staff? Who do you think put together the systems? Who do you think installs the game plan? It's Sirianni, who could win coach of the year.

Will he? Probably not. This season has been special, but if you ask me, what Doug Pederson has done for the Jaguars is special. We all have love for Pederson, and we all know what the Jaguars have been through as a franchise, so I'd say what he has done is worth the award.

But, let's not let that discredit what Sirianni has done. This guy is already one of the better coaches in the league in his second season.
