The Philadelphia Eagles spent Labor Day making four roster moves ahead of their Week 1 matchup against the New England Patriots.
The team signed linebacker Nicholas Morrow and offensive lineman Tyre Phillips to the 16-man practice squad and in corresponding moves, they released cornerback Tiawan Mullen and linebacker Kyron Johnson.
Morrow, an undrafted free agent in 2017, initially joined the Eagles during free agency. The team had plans for him to compete for a starting linebacker position following a 2022 season where he led the Chicago Bears in tackles in 2022.
However, Morrow ended up getting buried on the depth chart after losing a training camp battle to Christian Elliss and Zach Cunnigham.
As for Phillips, he was a former third-round pick of the Baltimore Ravens in 2020 and spent last season with the New York Giants where he played predominantly at right tackle. Aside from his big-bodied frame at 6-foot-5 and 325 pounds, Phillips brings versatility to the Eagles' depth chart as he has played at every position along the offensive line except at center.
