Eagles Made the Perfect First-Round Pick

Mitchell (6-0, 195 pounds) was the perfect pick for the Eagles who desperately needed a young and pro-ready weapon in their cornerback room.

He initially boosted his draft stock at the Reese's Senior Bowl and then he raised it even higher at the NFL Combine after he ran a 4.33 40-yard dash.

Mitchell made the jump to the pro level after three seasons at Toledo where he racked up 123 total tackles, 7.5 tackles for loss, one forced fumble, one sack, 45 passes defended, and six interceptions. 37 of his pass breakups came in his final two years with the Rockets.

Mitchell became the first Round 1 cornerback from the Mid-Atlantic Conference player selected since the Tennessee Titans picked wide receiver Corey Davis at No. 5 overall out of Western Michigan in 2017.

He's was also the first cornerback the Eagles had drafted in the first round since 2002.

Mitchell has only been with the Eagles for just a few short weeks and has received endless praise from head coach Nick Sirianni and teammates AJ Brown and Darius Slay.
